Our Philosophy: Our department is committed to developing passionate, creative thinkers while training and encouraging students to meet the imaginative and scholarly challenges of the 21st century. SANDS Theatre endeavors to provide each student with diverse experiences and relevant opportunities to develop a lifelong appreciation and love for the theatre.

In our department, our students are not only taught to be actors or technicians; we also teach them to set goals outside the classroom and how to achieve them. Our goal is to teach our students to succeed academically, to be global thinkers, and to use their talents beyond the four walls of their classrooms. We will accomplish this through a balanced study of theatre history, stage technology and design fundamentals, dramatic literature, and performance skills.
